question about i290 motorola phone?

hi, i recently bought a prepaid boost mobile i290 cell phone, and signed up for the 50$ a month for unlimited text web and call service, but upon activation, the walkie talkie and texting are not working, does anyone have any idea what would cause this? also, if you are curious, yes i did add money to my account to get it payed, and i did make sure that the services are included in the plan, the calling works just fine except i cant call people with the same phone as me, even though they can call me..?
