I'm an aspiring writer, and I'm wondering something. With the advancement of technology such as the Kindle, self-publication is incredibly more abundant than it was some years ago. I do think it's possible that some of my work could one day end up on the silver screen.
I'm wondering a couple of things.
1. Has there ever been a book that was self-published that has been made into a movie? I'm interested in an actual adaptation, but if it's loosely based on the book, I would also like to know that.
2. How exactly does the process of turning a book into a movie get accomplished? I'm guessing it starts with a director or a film studio finding interest in a book, but that's just a guess, which is why I'm asking here
Any and all helpful information is greatly appreciated.
