Yes it will automatically restart your contract if you upgrade. Also don't let verizon tell you differently; they can be very sneaky! Me and my dad found that out the hard way. If you are in need of a phone and dont want to restart a contact with them. Go on ebay and just buy a cheap verizon phone WITHOUT A CONTRACT. Then go to the store and have them put your number on it. They cant lock you in a contract if you do this. But they can if you upgrade.
