Question about using someone else's song lyrics in a novel?

Mkay. Just for reference. My novel was inspired by a song written by someone else. If I were to include a bit of the lyrics in, say the first pages of the book, or before a chapter or second part, would I have to get permission from the writer of the lyric? Or if I were to use quotations and tell who originally wrote them, would that be enough?
