Question about virgin mobile/Verizon prepaid?

Well I have a prepaid Verizon phone, I'm planning on switching to virgin mobile in a month. And I'm going to keep my Verizon phone number. What I'm wondering is, if I use the Verizon phone number on virgin mobile, can people that have 'Verizon to Verizon' texting still text me or no? Thanks.
