If you were riding in the desert and a thick dust storm rolled through. Would this clog up the filter enough to "choke" the bike?

Plus...if caught in this situation...could you simply remove the filter and beat off excess dust/ dirt to get you back?

(I'm a writer, and I don't own one...so I really don't know much about dirk bikes)

Since most dirt bikes have an oiled foam filter, a thick dust storm could clog it up, and simply knocking the dirt off would be difficult.

That is very unlikely to happen. I guess anything is possible though and yes as long as you beat some of that dust off you should be good to go.
