okay so i have a pretty decent guitar and amplifier but i want to get a multi effects pedal of some sort to get some nicer sounds, my question is, do you need two amplifiers to use the stereo function on the pedal? because i know that most effects aren;t as good without stereo but i didnt want to have to buy a whole new amp. Are there any alternatives, like plugging into speakers? or is my amp stereo> its a VOX VT30

To use stereo effects with an amp.. yeah of course you need two amps, one for the left and one for the right. As for saying "most effects aren;t as good without stereo", i disagree. There are only a handful of effects that sound better in stereo(such as delays and rotary effects) and if you were determined to use them, you could probably use the amp emulation on the multieffects pedal and output the left and right to different tracks on a mixer or recorder.
