Question for tech savvy iPhone owners?

I don't know the proportion, but a lot of sites, when visited through the iPhone, default to an "iPhone" or "mobile" version of the webpage. Is there an app/hack/jailbreak/etc that can get around that and have it go to the normal version of every site?
But when I go to a normal URL (www.ebay.com for example) it ~automatically~ takes me to the ".iphone" version

You simply have to pay attention to the URL if it includes m. mobile. or .mobile then you are in the wrong place. You should be able to choose the actual .com .org .net .us .ca ect
