Question : Is Banning Muslims to dress according to their dress code not repressive?

I saw this Yahoo News yesterday:


Europe struggles with Muslim dress code
ANTWERP, Belgium – Chances of seeing a burqa in Belgium are only a little better than spotting a liquor shop in Saudi Arabia. Yet Belgium soon may be the first European nation to outlaw the burqa and other Islamic garb that completely hides a woman's body and face.

Neighboring France and the Netherlands may also outlaw attire that is viewed by many in western European societies as demeaning to women. It also is considered a gateway ......

I think it is repressive. Their hijab is very close to a nun's dress. There is no
justification in banning it. For niqab, yes there is an excuse of security. But
if a woman does not want to show off her hair,why bother?


Do you think this ban is just ?
 
I do not believe the ban is just. Just because the lawmakers consider it "demeaning to women" doesn't mean they have a right to impose that opinion on these women.
