RCA dual DVD/VCR player question?

My dvd player will pause for a second or two every so often while I watch a movie. I have tried using a disc cleaner, but it still pauses every couple minuets during every movie played. Does anyone know what this is, how to fix it, etc.??
it has nothing to do with the remote. It is the DVD player itself... will freeze...play........freeze.......play.
 
your remote ,if you have one,might have goop,jelly,peanut butter under the touch controls,maybe spray some windex around the buttons
