Had one truck do this, nothing I did worked. Before I sold the thing I took it to a detailer and asked him. He had a spray he used that worked for years. I don't know what it was because he wouldn't show me, but it was only a few minutes and I was gone

Depending on the make/model of your car, it might be equipped with a cabin air filter. It doesn't cost much to change. You may also have a leak of a/c fluid getting in to your vents. Other than that, just take it in and tell them what you said on here. If you want it fixed right, make them do it for you.

Take your car to a dealership. Tell them about the problem, see what they find and what they're willing to do about it.

All cars with A/C do this. It's just the left over moisture created by the system removing water from the air in the car.

Some of that water stays in the system and smells a little, but the smell goes away after a few minutes.

Every car I've owned (and that's been quite a few) has done this.

I saddly suggest you not to waste your time trying to fix it. There's nothing you or any expert can do about it. Buy another car. It's the only solution.

Does it smell like coolant? I had a cooling problem in my car a while back and everytime I turned on the air that's all I could smell. I had the intake gasket fixed and I haven't had any problems since.
