Usually, I'd like a medium paced storyline (events don't happen too often, but don't drag on for many episodes), usually with a bit of action and some interesting romance. Must have a very powerful or moving soundtrack. No mecha. Animation should be up to standard, but doesn't have to be extraordinary (I can tolerated 2001 art) . Usually I'd like a cold and calm lead character. Please, nothing mainstream, as it usually gets converted to a mindless and stupid cash cow for merchandise ( I'm looking at you Bleach and Naruto).
