I'm doing a small recording for a house party with a live band. I'm not getting to complicated with micing everything up. I want to do it more as a room mic type of thing. I'm on a budget. Here is what I'm using TASCAM US-800 USB AUDIO/MIDI INTERFACE that has With 8 inputs (6 analog, 2 digital) and 4 outputs (2 analog, 2 digital) for recording dynamics. I have a Samsung RV511 laptop with a intel i3 core processor 500 gigs. It's pretty powerful. Cube Base 5 recording version 5.1.0. It's not LE it the whole production . I actually spend some money on that. I have 3 Shure 57's, MXL 991 condenser microphones, AKG Condenser mic Perception 220 Large-Diaphragm. Is this suitable for a small live recording? Another thing I would like to add is that I work for a recording studio and I want to after the show take what I recorded and transfer the files down and mix and clean up the tracks. I have 5 days to prepare for this and I would love to hear another engineers feed back or ideas or advise on this set up. I'm very confident that this will work out. Thank you
