In my mind, I know the calories in every single food that I eat. Anything in the house, I can tell you the calories in a serving. Subconsciously, I add up my calories though out the day. I try not to, but it's a Habit that I cannot break. I know that I'm eating enough, but is it mentally healthy for me to be counting calories?

Yeah, it's normal for anyone who even halfway cares about their appearance. Congrats on your recovery. Personally, if I wasn't thinking about the fact that a slice of pizza is like 250 calories each, I would eat 5. For me, thinking about calories keeps me balanced, aiming for approx. 1,200 per day. Therefore, I wouldn't want to waste them all in one sitting, like with the pizza example.

I think any woman who has paid attention to her diet does that. As long as you are sure you're eating well, at least 1400-1500 calories, I think you should be okay. You've probably got enough going on just making sure you eat. Tackling too much at once is even worse for you than your calorie habit. Congratulations on being on the road to recovery.

Well i'm the same. I'm 16 and last yr i just started eating healthily and eventually i started eating 500 calories .. 100 calories .. it all got a little bit out of control but i am fine how and i eat 1200 calories each day. I bet i could tell you all of the calories in different foods. It's not a bad thing as long as are eating enough :D X

you could look at it from a different point of view. a calorie is a unit of energy, so think about how many calories it will take to do your daily activities. that is the way i think about calories.

Ok you are fine. I do it all the time theres nothing wrong with it. If you are over the age of 14 you should be consuming more than 1345 calories a day.

yea i do the same thing. I know calories in everything, and im recovering too. I used to eat only 300 now its like 1,500. This isnt healthy for us. I have read alot of your posts and i'm sure you have read alot of mine, i want to talk to you more you should add me! i'm 17 5'4 and 88 and i used to be 77 and i'm trying to get to 95-100 at the moment.
