region 2 DVD is this for UK ?

Can anyone tell me which region I need for UK is it region 2?
 
region 2 is uk however region 9 and region 0 both work anywhere in there world although region 9 will occasionly need a PAL or NTSC tv depending on where the dic was intended to be sold (or preferably a tv with both ntsc and pal formats ie 99.9 % of tvs made in the last few years)

Don't know why the first answer got thumbed down as it is region 2 for Europe (except Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus) . Or 0, obviously...
