Relationship and Writing A Short Story?

I'm writing a short story for an arts school I really want to get into. I want to do it about a woman and a man (who have been dating for some time) who get into a huge fight, and ends their relationship forever, which isn't what they wanted. I'm basing it off two songs- Apology by Alesana, and Seduction by Alesana- (lyrics and video provided below) I really need help with coming up for the reasons they fight because well... I'm only in 8th grade so our reasons for fighting are petite, and not enough to break up us. I'd like it to be realistic but dramatic but not OVER dramatic. I'm going to begin it with the couple walking into their apartment coming from an upper class party (any suggestions on that would be appreciated too) or maybe coming from a date at a restaurant. I want this story to be somewhat unique, and filled with thought and meaning. But the end, I want to kind of end the story with the last lines in the songs I mentioned earlier.
