religion in Scotland?

Why do some(not all) scot's hate Protestant's(vice versa) so much?

I love the scots but i have been told of really bad storys what happens between both Protestant's and catholics.

Is this to do with the a sport they play up there?

Any advice or replys would be welcome,

Protestants and Catholics have always had a bitter hate for each other in that part of the world
Especially in Ireland.

Are you sure you don't mean Ireland?
Scotland doesn't have problems with religion last I heard. Most Scots aren't even religious.
