removing battery on opel/vauxhall corsa - radio security code?

hiya - just got a used 1999 Opel (Vauxhall) Corsa swing and I want to remove the battery and paint the plate underneath the batter cause its going/gone rusty but am really worried that when I replace the battery that the delco car radio (cdr500) will not work and require a security code to work, any tips please?

Use jumper cables or wires from another battery connected to the battery cables of your car. You don't need much current to keep the electronics alive. (There is a gizmo you plug into a cigarette lighter just for this purpose.) as long as you are careful, or use plastic bags to make sure the + end of things does not touch the ground the radio will never know you took out the battery, I do this when replacing batteries. Saves me time.

Hello

Yes it will need the code re-entering once you disconnect the battery.
There is nothing you can do to retrieve the code from the radio either.
The only way to do it is to use a set of jump leads and another battery.
