you are in a room with 2 doors. 1 door leads to happiness, paradise... its basically the door you want to get into. the other door is the opposite and will lead to torture etc. you can't tell the doors apart.

there are 2 parrots. in the room. 1 of them always lies. 1 of them always tells the truth. they are beside each other.

you can only ask them ONE question. how are you going to figure out which door is the one you get into?

(the birds know which door is good and which door is bad...)

ask each parrot "which door would the other parrot tell me to open?" the lier will say the torturous door because the truth teller would say the opposite. the truthful parrot would also say the torturous door so you pick the opposite door

Ask them "which one of you is a bird?" The truth teller will say he is, in fact, a bird. The liar will say he is not a bird. Take the liar and twist his head off. Now, take the truth teller and snatch his A SS up. Start walking towards one of the doors, w/o saying anything. If the bird begins to panic, because he knows it is the torture door, you'll be able to tell by his frantic actions. If you approach the door and the bird remains calm and passive, that is the right door, because the bird does not fear the door.

My answer is easier and makes more sense. You also get to penalize the liar. I never even saw the movie.

Hmm, I don't know. Ask them a trick question that only the good bird can answer truthfully.

Why can't you open the doors and find out?

This comes from the movie Labyrinth. Ask either one of the parrots, doesn't matter which, if this door (choose one and point to it) were the paradise door, would the other parrot tell me yes? If the parrot is the truth parrot and says yes, then this would be the correct door to go through. If it is the lying parrot, then he would be lying by saying yes, so that would again be the door to go through. If the parrot says no, then you know it has to be the other door.
