you are traveling with a fox, a chicken, and some chicken feed, and you come up to a river. there is no way to get across it except by boat. You find a boat, but the boat can hold only two at a time. you need all three or the things, so you can't leave one or let one get eaten. they will not eat each other if you are present. How do you get across without the fox eating the chicken or the chicken eating the feed?
you have to be one of the things in the boat so you can row.
Megan got it, but see if you can find and alternate answer.

Pick up the chicken, rove over, drop the chicken off.. rove back, pick up the fox, drop the fox on the other side with the chicken, take the chicken with you and rove back for the feed.. drop the chicken by the feed, but this time take the feed with you.. rove back with the feed and drop it on the side with the fox.. rove back alone, get the chicken. rove back to the feed and the fox, and Voilà! :D
