I have the sd box right now and I'm thinking of switching to a hd box because I just got a hdtv.

my question is is there a difference watching a non hd channel on a hd box vs a sd box

on the website is states:

10x resolution of regular TV
Wide-screen picture format (16:9)

does better resolution mean better picture quality?

The non-HD channels would still appear the same with an HD receiver, you would only notice an improved picture quality on the HD channels. With Rogers, you can upgrade your SD to an HD receiver for about $8/mth more. You would automatically get access to about 25 HD channels (mostly the major Canadian and U.S. network stations) and you can choose from one of two optional add-on HD packages.
