rookie jailbreAking 3.1.2 ipod touch?

okay,, i've never jailbroken an ipod but i want to.. i have tons of music i hhave from diffrent comupters.. so if i jail broke it (with blackrain) would it delete my songs apps videos or what else? itd be a pain to get it all back
