Router and Internet Troubleshooting?

I recently have purchased a router off ebay. A router should work right out of the box and I have reset the router settings to factory settings and in the middle of a streaming video the buffer stops. Also in pogo it kicks me out. I have xbox live and in the middle of an update it had done the same thing. Sometimes in the middle of loading a page it stops too. It is very frequent. The streaming video would go from full fledged downloading to about 30-60 kbps then just stop in the middle of its tracks. I have a comcast modem and a linksys v4 wireless b router. Im sure it is just a setting in the routers config. Im pretty computer literate just haven't mess around too much with networking. Somebody please help. Like for instance trying to press the continue button it would not load the next page until i had pressed the stop button then hit the continue button again. Also I have a great connection with not problems when I hook up hardwired from my PC to the modem.

umm ok.
lynksys isnt that good a brand i dnt think you see i have a netgear modem which is pretty good but it gives me the same issue well sometimes youtube vids stop loading and stuff. ok so how far is your router from the pc and xbox. mine is about 10 metres away.
also you bought it off ebay so maybe it was a faulty product and they sold it to u making it look like a bargain. i dnt blame u for that a bargain is always attractive. if the problem persists take the modem to a computer specialist and ask them to have a look at it and see if it is working in proper order.

i prefer you call your ISP to have your router and modem configure. and as for your Xbox i think you wil be ask to call your Xbox manufacturer by your ISP to have your xbox configured
