same AWG Wire but diffrent size.. car audio?

Hey i got 2 different wires from my cap to my amp last one was too short 1" so i went out and got another 3" previous one was 4 AWG so i bought same but once i striped the wire the wire sizes are different diameters.. i want to make sure that nothing bad will happen if i use the small diameter one but longer cable?

PS its like Half the size and its labeled "Flexible" both made in US
1" - a foot
3" - 3 foot sorry
 
Different companies will have different strand counts and different methods for packing the wire in the insulation. This leads to different diameters of the same wire. So this is typical if you were to buy different wires.

This should not be a problem as the wire should still be able to handle the current. So you should be fine using that wire.
