Samsung Comeback's external screen not bright enough?

I recently purchased a Samsung Comeback from the T-mobile and the external screen (the screen on the outside) is not very bright, it makes pictures darker than they actually are. Does anyone know if this is supposed to happen or if it a factory defect or not?
