Here's the thing: I need a nice sound system from my new Samsung LED TV. I'm choosing one of these -

Samsung soundbar http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-HT-WS1R-XAA-Soundbar/dp/B001XCX9RU
Samsung home cinema http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/5285145/art/samsung/ht-c555-home-cinema-syste.html

I would go with home cinema, but the store manager told me, that the sound bar is in a way better, `cos it gives nice and full sound all over the room, because it bounces of the walls or something.
But the cinema is great if you sit right in the middle of all the four speakers, only then you get the best sound.

Is it true? Any experiance?

Please don't mention anything about prises, as they are different in my country, I only want to discuss the quality and benefits!

Which one is better? Pros and cons?

You have the right idea going Samsung although I am not keen on either choice...There is no way that soundbar is going to sound anything like a separate speaker system...Its going to give an illusion kinda like a Bose setup.....A true 51 setup will send different signals to the front and rears to give you the feeling of being in the movie....You are on the right track with the other choice but should spend a bit more to get a Blu-Ray player..I have the Samsung HT-BD1250 and am very pleased.....It has an I-Pod Doc-FM Tuner and can hook into your network to stream Net-Flix and Pandora...It was also easy to set up and easy to use with my Samsung TV....

In general - a system with 5 real speakers that surround you are better than a sound-bar which requires you to have a small, symetric room to work properly.

However - that Samsung cinema is a crappy DVD player with cheap attached speakers and they use every dirty trick in the book to claim the "1,000 watts of power". The quality - is highly suspect.

Between those 2 - the soundbar would be my preferred choice because of the crappy quality of the 'system'.
