I was wondering, what are some goof guitar scales to use for writing metal songs like those of Metallica's Fade to Black, Enter Sandman, One, and Welcome Home Sanitarium, 3 Inches of Blood's Deadly Sinners, and songs by Black Sabbath. Also, what are some good scales to write a solo like the one used in Led Zeppelins dazed and Confused.
Now A lot of you out there are thinking
"Why doesn't this guy write his own songs?". Well I am, but I have given titles to songs which sound closest to mine and have the same mood.
You may also be asking :
"If this guy is writing songs, shouldn't he be able to work out a good scale using a scale formula." Well, I am not that good with scale as I have not been studying musical theory long enough. I know the A minor pentatonic scale and the A minor blues scale and the C major open scale and the C major move able scale but they don't cut it for me because I can't get a good sound from using them.
