on formspring, which if you didnt know is like a gossip place where you have an account and people can annonomously ask you questions. anyways so someone at my school created an account for the school. its basically so people can ask to give bios of people and ask random gossip questions. knowone knows who is behind the account but they say awful nasty things about tons of people including me and my friends. i wanna put a stop to it but i dont know how. i know people can get in really really big trouble for doing stuff like this but im afraid to tell the police or anything. i need help!

Have you tried talking to your friends to see how they feel about this? If they al agree that something should be done about it then one of you should tell someone.
You dont necissarily have to involve the police, unless it is serious stuff that is being written. How about talking to a teacher or adult that you trust? In most cases, if something is done about this then no one will know it was you who told on them in the first place.
I think if you do put a stop to this then it would be a very sensible and mature thing to do. Dont be so scared about this person getting in trouble- they chose to write these things, so they chose to deal with the consequences. Dont keep protecting them, they dont sound like the sort of person that deserves you worrying about them anyway.
