I'm writing a story that takes place in July of 19755. It's about a 15 year old named Josh Mazer. He and his 5 friends Mel "Mallory" (15 years old), Cary (13 years old), Dee "Dennis" (16 years old) & Riley (15 years old) are making a movie and after a night of fun they meet IT. One night the 5 go on a night on the town (with Josh's police officer dad working the night shift) & at 10:27 they hear a rustle in the tall grass next to the Boswell train tracks. Josh goes to investigate but when he gets over there it's too late. The alien strikes Josh in the face throwing him to the ground & after he gets up him & the other 4 have flee to Mel's grandpa's car but the alien tips it over making it drag 20 yards on its side. The next morning Josh sees that when the alien attacked him, it left a huge scratch on his face. After that, Josh hears voices in his head, his eyes turn yellow with red on the outside, his hair falls out & his fingernails fall off. This is mostly a Sci-Fi story but it also tells about teenage summer love. (Josh is trying to impress Mel) I can't figure out anything for the ending. I've thought about Josh turning into an alien but that didn't work out... Any ideas?
I want the story to leave people feeling happy for Josh. Like maybe he turns into an alien but he tells Mel he loves her or something creative like that. Thanks! I know, this probably sounds like a rip-off from "Super8" but--oh well! I'm not an open minded person.
