Selling a car with probs?

If it has some problems we want to get out of it, but still we don't want to be ripped off. Should we put some money into it so we can sell it. It is missing a few peices in the interior ( nothing major, but the face of the radio is cracked). The car leaks a little bit of oil, the power sliding doors act up sometimes. The car says the passenger door is ajar, and the gas cap is broken. Just yesterday the check engine light went on i suspect i know what it is though (Its a 2001 Windstar Sel with 141,XXXX) What would be the pros and cons of selling it as it is or fixing it to sell, when it comes to price

Odds are, the check engine light is on because the gas cap is broken.
Obviously, if you want to sell it for top dollar, you're going to have to fix it up a little bit. You can't change a buyers first impression.
Check your local salvage yards for a radio (it takes about 3 minutes to replace it) and pick up a new gas cap.
Clean the contacts on the sliding door. this should take care of the "door ajar" warning light.
Other than that, I certainly wouldn't get too involved with a minor oil leak.
Good luck.
