The only obstacle on the way to Serena Williams advancing to the second round of the Olympics was a rogue camera operator who got a little too close to the reigning Wimbledon champion.

Serena easily defeated former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic 6-3, 6-1 in their opening-round match. It was as crisp as Serena has played at the All England Club this summer, which is saying something, seeing as how she cruised to the ladies' title there earlier this month.
It wasn't until Serena was shaking hands with the chair umpire that something got in her way. (It helps a little if you go look through the chronological photos with the "Jaws" theme playing in the background.)
Don't blame the camera operator. He was likely discombobulated by all the color on Centre Court. Purple backgrounds? Red, white and blue dresses? A guy wearing a Cubs T-shirt while sitting next to the first lady? It was all very disorienting.
Serena is slated to defend her Olympic doubles crown with her sister Venus. It is unknown whether either sister will compete in mixed doubles at the Games.
