My friend's Compaq V6000 Windows XP laptop was running updates. INstead of hitting restart later she hit restart now/ WHen powering up her computer again she noticed that everytime she loads internet explorer it can not be displayed despite being hooked up with an ethernet wire to a router that works just as it has always done. The samr thing happened when her firefox had to update itself. That stopped working. How can we fix this?
UPDATE: Tried a system restore to an earlier time and now when it lodas it'll beep and hte mouse will freeze and have to be restarted which is pissing everyone off. I feel like I screewd it up by restoring it and now she won't talk to me.
