setting up a blue ray player?

I got a blu ray player today and I can't figure out how to set it up. I was told i need a HDMI wire, which i bought to set it up to my cable box. I plugged it into the blu ray to the cable box. The problem is that I need to turn the cable box to the input channel but my remote doesnt have the button. what do i do?
 
if the cable box is connected to your TV you need to change your TV's source.. find the button that says source or src
