I have a shih tzu poodle mutt and she didn't shed when we got her but now she is shedding like crazy! It's all over the house and I brush her every day and get clumps and clumps of hair out. Is this "spring shedding" or did the two low shedding genes just not work in my dog. Do poodles and shih tzus shed a lot in the beginning of the year? I don't mind the shedding really I just think it's odd that her breeds are low shedding and she didn't shed but now it's almost out of control. Any input would be great. Thanks.

That's the problem with these designer mutts.
The parents were likely carriers of the "shedding" gene, which is uncommon in the individual breeds themselves to appear fully, but in mutts it's actually quite common.
It's unfortunate how people fall into that trap isn't it?
Try bathing her, and keep up the brushing each day and you'll have less have less of a problem with the house cleaning. You could also try a groomer
