Shock/Strut question?

I'm planning on buying some new shock and strut for my car. I was wondering do they come in pair or do i purchase one individually? Also how would I know what I need, are shock and strut the same thing or do i have to purchase the shock and the strut seperatly too? thanks

Shocks and struts i are sold individually. They are similar but do not have the same installation procedures. Personally, Leave the strut installation to the professionals because if you can get seriously hurt or killed if you don't know what you are doing or don't have the correct tools for installing the struts--they are not something to play around with. The people that work at the car repair shops and car parts can look up what you need for your car.
