A lot of Islamic countries were in support of a resolution in the UN which would make it illegal to criticize religions, mainly Islam.

Do any religious people actually think it should be made illegal to criticize the religions or religious followers?

Do any Muslim Y/A posters support the resolution? If so, why?

This kind of mentality fits the political aspect of Islam but I think it's a terrible idea. People should be free to express their opinions on a variety of subjects. Religion should not be off limits.

We should be grateful no such law could be enacted in this country. Our Constitution guarantees us freedom of speech. The UN can go somewhere and ... well, never mind. Not that anyone listens to the UN anyway.

And if the Muslims don't like criticism of their religion, they are free to A) Not listen, or B) Go back home, where their faith is enforced by law, or C) Work harder against the radical fanatics within their own faith, who attract all the criticism to begin with.
