I have 2 crazy cats that sometimes get up on the counters and fight or one of my cats gets up on the computer desk to look out of the window. I'm afraid that they will mess with the candles, feel the warmth, freak out and knock it over without me seeing it. Also, are you comfortable with lighting candles without being in the room? I know that i could put my candles on a shelf and it wouldn't be bothered, but for some reason i have a fear of something catching on fire. Do i have a reason to feel this way? Thanks :)

Yes, you do, even without the cats in the room. Unattended candles (and related things like incense) sometimes cause fires. I personally know two separate people who had serious fires break out this way, one resulting in the death of his 2-year-old son.

If you want to take this chance, I suggest you make certain there's no way the candle has access to anything flammable, like put it in the middle of a pizza pan on the floor or on a kitchen counter with a tile floor. Putting it in a small jar would help, too, as well as making it cat-resistant.

Well i have 4 crazy cats!!!!! haha For some reason i don't have a problem i have candles where they go and they haven't seemed to bothered them..i just keep a good eye on the candles..

And i really don't have a problem with all that stuff...but were all diffrent. Get scentsy warmers(sorry can't spell that hopefully you know what i'm talking about.) they are amazing:D
Good luck.
I think they know to stay away.

In my opinion you should never light candles and walk away from it too long specially if you go out... i have a friend with 2 cats and she lights up over 7 candles at the same time all over the house and the cats have access to all of them but they never try to knock them over but in my opinion it's pretty dangerous.

I suggest lighting your candles somewhere high where the cats can't get to it and before sleep or going out you should blow them off because you never know. I light mine up when im in the room but before i leave i blow them off because if the cats accidentally knock them over it would be a serious problem that could of been avoided.

Like they say better safe than sorry
