should i buy a flat? (or a car??)?

help! I live in wales (Cardiff) i really want a car, but im sick and tired of living off my parent, paying rent (£100) for them, and i still have to buy food and share a living room with them! My friend and i were talking about renting a flat nearer to our jobs, which would be nearly £200 a month, but would be less if we have a couple of extra flatmates! But if i did rent a flat, i wouldn't be able to buy a car! what shall i do???
