My fiancé and I have have been together for 5 years and this past year engaged. We are leaving my family in Vegas and moving to Hawaii for work and to be closer to his family. I've been thinking about going on a mini-solo vacation to California for a while now and just brought up the idea to him. His mood changed and he definitely seems taken back and said "That's weird." I just want to say I've done something on my own for ONCE. All this stress and worry of moving away from my family is overwhelming and I just want some time alone (which I could never do here in Vegas). Am I being selfish? I don't want to hurt his feelings.
