so the issue is i heard the sound isn't that great on the ipod as far as audiophilics say.

Like I heard the clipplus or iriver etc's sound quality is really good. I was thinking of buying a music/mp3 player that has good sound quality and really good battery life.

I would primarily use the ipod touch for browsing the internet (reading) or doing reviews on ANKI (learning a language) and listen to music (but how bad's the quality!). I don't plan on putting videos in because I like watching my shit on a big tv or at least a computer screen but watching through that little screeen seems like a waste of time.

considering the price difference. I feel like I should get 8gb i pod touch & then use whatever money that could've been spent on the 16gb towards a music player that's better than all the ipod crap with the sound quality and battery life.

btw if anyone has suggestions for any music players that are under $100 and good sound quality & batterfly life. go right ahead.

If you are only gonna put songs on it then 8 gb is fine. movies take up lots more memory. but if you get the touch, there are thousands of apps that you are gonna want to put on. and lots of them are free. i have the 32 gb. you should get the 16gb because with 8 gb you will feel limited on space. and who knows, what if you are bored while on a long trip of some sort and want to watch a movie, it cant hurt to have a movie on it. i say, get the 16 gb. AND THE SOUND IS PERFECT, IT IS JUST THE SPEAKERS THAT COULD SOUND BETTER, BUT EVEN THOSE ARE NOT BAD AT ALL. WHOEVER TOLD YOU SOUND WAS BAD IS STUPID.
