Should I go on vacation with my husband to visit his family he has not seen in 10 years? My husband is from Ecuador and I am from Texas ...we have completely different customs and priorities. The only reason I waned to go was to go to the galapagos islands but now he is saying that we will have to travel with all of his family and pay for them too...i don't want to go and ruin his family time because he has not seen them in a long time... I don't like to be around many people especially on vacation unless it's the a party...,
 
Well if you aren't comfortable doing it, then probably not. An alternative would maybe go, make an appearance, and hang around with a friend or something. Should you go you shouldn't be expected to spend every waking moment with them, especially when it's more of a reunion.
 
stay home you are not able to enjoy doing it his way with his family. discuss finances with him and make an agreement before he leaves.. you do your own thing this year.
 
Go and meet his family which is ur family too now. have a good time and know each other...u may feel little better..-)
