Should I move to Hollywood and pursue my dream?

I know it sounds like a stupid question because I know I should do what I want and pursure my dreams but is it worth while to move to California and try to pursue a career in movie/tv acting. obvisly it worked out for some people who had no family connections and just went for it. I feel like I'm good enough looking(not to sound cocky), outgoing, nice, hardworking, I feel like I'd be a good actress, etc. What do you think? any tips on moving, acting, people, housing, etc.

Should I go for it when I 18? in about a year and a half or so. I need some tips....anything. I know I will move there no matter what but once again any comments.

You didn't tell us about your extensive training, so I'm guessing you don't have any. That's a problem. Of the tiny, tiny percentage of people who move out there and "make it", do you have any idea how few of them had NO TRAINING when they went?

The entire world leaves home and tries to make their fortune when they're 18. The fact of the matter is that there will always be someone prettier, more outgoing, and nicer than you are, and they don't know how hard you'll work if they don't cast you. Your best bet, if you really, really want to try acting, is to go to school, get some training, and make some connections before moving out there. BFA programs generally have great opportunities like showcases for agents and whatnot, in addition to giving you lots of agents, that help you get every possible advantage.
 
Look first of all, looks have nothing to do with much. In Hollywood they can make a hobo look like Brad Pitt. I won't say against it because I am lucky enough to be born in Los Angeles. Here's how I started, and I feel that I am progressing rapidly.(although still a student.)

I thought about it. I am talking about some deep thoughts.
It look me a year or two to realize that I really needed to pursue this passion I have for acting.(Like my acting coach says, "If you think you can do something else other than acting...do it, you'd be 1000 times more successful.

The business isn't easy I'll tell you that, Get some training. When you come to California, after you're done unpacking look up some local acting coaches/schools. Moving to Hollywood isn't necessary but maybe an hour or half away would be fine. Training is essential. Very important.

Get involved in community theatre, school plays. Never think about participating in theatre as "packing in your resume" Which many actors do. Think of it as experience. Very crucial experience that will be needed later on.

When you progress your acting coach will refer you to an agency(getting referred from an acting coach is much easier than doing it yourself). The agency will then guide you through the business from then on, but stick to your acting coach for a while because there's always time to learn.

Lastly make sure the training you get is legit. There are many fake schools and agencies out there, a very cruel world yes. Do A LOT of research before advancing to anything

theres alot of competition out there so make sure you realyy know your the best at what you do first.
