keeping them out of the? headlines and concentrating more on science and important events

celebrities should be less public, the public should be less hungry, and those media that cover celebrities are going to keep publishing everything and anything as long as it sells.
it's that simple.
there are plenty of media - NYTIMES, The Times, Globe & Mail, Washington Post, Scientific American, BBC, CBC, PBS etc - that provide accurate and in-depth coverage of the more sober side of life.

It depends on the situation or why they might be receiving the media attention. A lot of celebrities do good things by bringing different problems in the world to the attention of people that they might otherwise not hear anything about.

All the day to day stuff, the who's dating who, chasing people around town, caring what Brad and Angelina are doing. All that kind of stuff could go away tomorrow and it wouldn't be missed. The reason the media report on things like that is because people buy it. People might complain about the attention celebrities receive, but they're watching TMZ on TV and buying the tabloid magazines.
