I think that this would do the UK good and give it the boot up the arse it needs to do better in the competition. At the moment our place is safe in eurovision because we fund the most money to them. However thius means that whichever act is chosen goes straight through to the Eurovision finals and does not have to go through the tough qualifying rounds that most of the other countries go through. Countries that go through the qualifiers are doing better because they are aware they could miss out in the finals. So I think the same rule ashould apply to the UK
