Sims 2 castaway:why is my Sims alway complaining?

I feed it. put it to bed, light fires , socialise my sims and its never happy for long ..grrrrrrrrr..is there a stop whinging command in the game? I want to build stuff and get on with the game but most my time is taken up on personally maintaining my Sims. Does this part of the game improve at all? LOL
