Since nothing even really exists the way 99% of people see stuff, why waste

time arguing religion? "Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves." -Maynard James Keenan

Love the Maynard quote. Tool rocks.
Anyway...

We "waste time" arguing religion so as to express our thoughts. If they get a little heated, well, that is the nature of humans. We have, as you say, a very narrow view of the world. Perhaps we feel that we must fully understand our little bubble before we can move on to the other 99% of reality. And with so many dissenting opinions out there, it is difficult to get a grasp on our tiny world. Who is right? None can say with certainty.

"I am just a worthless liar, I am just an imbecile, I will only complicate you, trust in me and fall as well" -Sober, Tool.

Time wastes anyway why not waste it on something.

God possessed a lot of magic powers, you know. He was so magical he was even able to conjure up himself, though it doesn't actually say that.

Acid is a trick - it is not to be trusted.

In the end, the fundamentalist nutters will bring the harsh realities of the shortcomings of religion to a neighborhood near you. For this reason alone it is important to approach the argument on a strictly pragmatic basis.

"mommy, why won't the creationists let me learn the truth?"
