It said it was mostly young mothers and mostly new mothers who are addicted to parenting boards chatting and asking about parenting issues. Dr.'s are comparing it to alchohol addiction.
The clues that you are addicted are things like if checking your email is the first thing you do when you get up, or if you have one or more loads of laundry to do and you instead get online, or if you have dirty dishes in the sink, and so on. I am sitting here knowing I have a couple of loads to do, so doest that mean I am officially addicted? LOL

Here is the link if you would like to read it.

Lmao, Ava's mommy! I soooo agree!

I think it is only a problem if you are neglecting your baby or your house is unsafe for your baby to be in. Screw the laundry! lol

LOL I read that article too and I am a new mom ( a beautiful lil girl who is one month)! But I tell ya I don't know what I would do without everyone's answers. :)

I was addicted to the internet long before I became a mom.

Well if thats the case then I think a lot of us are addicted. At least I know that I am. What else do they want us to do when the baby is sleeping? Its the only time I get to check this thing.

Yeah. Those people who wrote the article must not have kids, because they don't realize that if you do laundry/dishes/vacuum too soon in the day, you'll just have to do it all over again later on. LOL Some chores are better left for later - otherwise I'd be loading my damned dishwasher every 20 minutes. LOL

I admit, I do spend a lot of time on the computer, but without the adult interaction of other people I'd be lost. I'd go nuts. How can you sustain a conversation all day, every day, with a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 year old? I can only talk about Thomas the Train so much. LOL And my kids are fed, bathed and happy, plus my house is clean at the end of the day (not before, like I said - it's a waste of time!). So that's all that matters. :P

I read the article too, I wouldn't say you're addicted. We moms are also entitled to a few minutes of relaxations and chilling out a day. It's ok to take a few minutes out of ur busy day to go online to chill out. Like right now I could be cleaning up the kitchen and I'm online, I just put my baby to sleep and I could use a few minutes of relaxation.

Haha well in that case, I am officially addicted to the internet. The first things I do in the morning are check my email and warm up a bottle and I definitely have a few loads of laundry to do lol.
Although I like to believe I have some control lol. I'm only on here when Aisling is happily playing with her toys or sleeping.
