Would you say that turtle crawls or walks? Would you say that a turtle can run? Most definitions of running involve both feet being off the ground at some time. Do you think a turtle could do this?

In the Appalachian Mountains wee call that a Tarpin and yes they can run up and bite your toe and won't let go till sundown even if you cut their head off. and the summers are hotter and the winters are warmer.

I think it walks. Crawl usually applies to animals that walk on two legs walking on four (like a person). You don't say a dog crawls, right? Except turtles belly's usually touch the ground when they walk, so maybe it is a crawl? Tortoises walk for sure.
I think turtles can run, it's just slower than a normal run lol like cheetahs running is very fast compared to a person. Also, I've seen some fast tortoises. I like tortoises much more than turtles.

I ran over a turtle accidentally once. For a brief moment, I wished that he could run, run really fast. But once again, my wish didnt come through.
