...explain this? Hello. So now, after my previous question, I engaged in an "argument" with my mom. She is a heavy Christian, as I have stated, I am a deist. She told me that people who aren't Christians are evil, or have something fucked up with their lives, please someone clarify this, because I can't believe my mother said that. She used that verse in The Bible that reads: "The just shall live by faith." I then said, how about all the Religions that many Asians believe, are they going to hell too? So she said that they had their chance to learn about Jesus Christ. I am astonished. I would like everyone to give me insight on this, I don't care what you believe in as long as you are respectful. Thank you.
 
All humans have evil in them so I would prefer to use the word "uninformed" to refer to those who haven't accepted Jesus as their Savior.And it's not as if Jesus' teachings are unavailable.With the advent of satellite television a number of Christian programs have been received in every nation in the world for quite a few years now.
 
Here is your answer and it makes perfect sense and answers your question, however, christians of todays world hate this FACT from the bible.

Your answer is: GOD chooses who will be saved.....thus he will choose which Asian people will be saved and which Muslim folks and on and on....otherwise Christians are the only people saved
 
If you aren't saved / born again then you are still in the devil's camp and need to be forgiven and spiritual blessed so that you will become a child of God and part of the family of God, and thereby have eternal life.
 
Your mother is incorrect, or has a skewed understanding of Christianity. Although it is stated in Catholicism that there is no salvation outside the church, there is always a caveat that one can use to get around the rule.

For instance, why would God condemn anyone who doesn't have all the information?
Or if the situation were so burdensome that they couldn't bear it?

If you are miserly in your heart toward one another, then this is how God will treat you.

The caveat is the Lord's Prayer...."forgive my debts AS I FORGIVE MINE."
 
Not all branches believe this I am catholic and we believe as long as you are good person and do good things you go to heaven although first you go to purgatory
 
Yeah, go ahead and read in that book that she believes is an actual historical account of the creation of the world...you'll find many sections that explain that those who reject God and his Son's sacrificed will face the lake of fire.

It does not say "Oh the little asian family who believed in Xenu that just happened to be born into that belief system are exempt from the fire."

Luke's answer isn't found anywhere in the Bible.
 
I'm not trying to be disrespectful to your Mom, but common sense tells us all that her statement is completely untrue. There is no way she could possibly speak as to how everyone else in the worlds quality of life is. Many Christians are afraid to question their religion, and she is just afraid for you because you don't believe in exactly what she does. So she is resorting to trying to scare you with the thought that everyone who thinks differently than she does is either evil or somehow unhappy with life. I am not a Christian, and I can assure you that I am neither evil or unhappy. Believe in what your heart tells you is right.
 
Religion 101 is that anybody who is not with you, is against you. Christians aren't the only ones guilty of this tactic.
 
I'm sorry but I have to ask you: why did you do that? Why did you agitate yourself like that?

OK. Get your mom to tell you again what she said about 'all people', and then show
you in the bible. She likely will like doing that. Then you study it see if you concur
or not.

I think you have to start there because otherwise you don't know what she said
for sure.

I will tell you that I trust God. I don't put thoughts I have into God, but read
what it says.

Actually, Asians are piling into their churches, turning in droves away from
various religions, and some churches I read have something like...get this...
100,000 people each week. That would be positively amazing to me.

I'll tell you a bible secret to help you or you will get trashed. I think it was
Jesus Christ (or Paul, can't remember) that said 'Never return EVIL for evil'
but OVERCOME evil with ....GOOD.

Arguing with someone who is staunch anything is a recipe for frustration.
