...dog...is it really necessary? I asked a question previously about my dog 2 year old bichon frise being hyper active and uncontrollable when outside. I recently bought a halti head collar, going to give it a try tomorrow...

but I just read on Cesar Milan's website(the dog whisperer) that with a high energy dog it's better to use a bike because some dogs just like to run.

Is this really necessary? Is there really no way to train him without having to resort to run with him?
he just gets overly excited on walks, he loves the outdoors we take him out every 3-4 hours and every time he acts as if he hasn't been out for weeks :( he pulls on the leash hard! we have had training and the guy suggested electric shock... we're making this the VERY LAST resort. We have tried harnesses, chain chokers, and what not.

When I take him out and try to correct him he doesn't listen it's like I'm not even there. Hopefully the halti collar will help...I'm just afraid I might hurt him :/ I might give the tredmill a try, we do have one in the house.

Thanks for your responses.
